“If we would arrive at truth, each man must be taught to enquire and think for himself.”
“If we would arrive at truth, each man must be taught to enquire and think for himself.”
William Godwin, 1793
Consider for a moment not to
consider your party affiliation, but rather the truth in the search for
knowledge. Having read many words from both sides of the aisle, one is left to
reason the futility of their duplicity. Most of us just want to live our lives
in peace and be happy without harming anyone else in our pursuit of our own
happiness. There are obligations however, as we endeavor in our pursuit, in
which we all must claim responsibility. If we are to remain in a free society,
focusing on the common good of all is our only logical course. Yes, there are
other courses which others are in pursuit. Clues are present in all
aspects and levels our society. From our birth to our death, government effects
every aspect of our lives. It has been said that government is a necessary
evil. Are we to conclude then that we are all evil? Those whom we elect to
represent the morals, values and virtues of us as a people tell our tale.
Have we not and are we still not witnessing our evil? Where we went wrong is no
so much important as to how we make it right. The truth is in education and
enlightening of the individual mind. Thinking for one’s self is where a human
true powers lye. The last remaining place where man’s freedom endures. Society
is not designed to the freeing on one’s mind. It has been designed to control
the individual mind. Quoting from Godwin’s “Enquiry Concerning Political
Justice” earlier I appeal to you to contemplate these words;
“We dare not leave our minds at
large in the field on enquiry, lest we should arrive at some tenet disrelished
by our party. We have no temptation to enquire. Party has a more powerful
tendency, than perhaps any other circumstances in human affairs, to render the
mind quiescent and stationary.”
Consider now your own concerns with
human affairs. Most would respond by saying, “there is nothing I can do about
it”, when presented with the issues. Indoctrinated in attachment to materials
of worth, we are blind to the actions of those whom we elect to govern. You may
have even heard or said yourself, “as long as it doesn’t affect me” or “so long
as a get….” It is our pursuit of immediate gratification that has opened the door
for those whom have power, to control our choices and desires. I will believe
you will find this to be true, so long as you inspire to keep an open mind.
Resulting in what I believe Godwin said best;
“From these considerations it
appears, that associations, instead of promoting the growth and diffusion of
truth, tend only to check its accumulation, and render its operation, as far as
possible, unnatural and mischievous.”
It is not to them where we should seek our answers but within ourselves await the answers we seek. Trusting in our own judgement is a far better choice than placing it in the hands of others whom are the lovers of fortune and fame. Who better to discern the truth from what is right and wrong, from what is just too unjust? Is it not the lover of wisdom? As, you ponder these questions, I beseech you again to consider the words of Godwin again;

“The truth can scarcely be acquired
in crowded halls and amidst noisy debates. Where hope and fear, triumph and
resentment, are perpetually afloat, the severer faculties of investigation are
compelled to quite the field. Truth dwells with contemplation. We can seldom
make much progress in the business of disentangling error and delusion, but in
sequestered privacy, or in the tranquil interchange of sentiments that take
place between two persons.”
Civil Government’s Extent and End
One would find it an act of
simplicity to scan their memory for a moment in their lives, in which they have
uttered the words, “the world is getting smaller all the time” or “small world
isn’t it” at some point in their lives. Not, just in this country but most
likely in every part of the civilized world today. This alone can lead
one to conclude, that the United States of America is not alone in the world,
when it comes to facing major economic, political and social transformation.
It is quite evident our economy is tied to the worlds, actually, a more truthful statement would be to say, there is a economic inter woven connectivity between all countries of the world today. This connectivity can be seen for instance, by examining how commerce and trade our conducted. A mere call for example, in regards to a credit call bill or a computer related issues would create a conversation that takes place with two individuals, one being from these United States and the other, a citizen of the country of India. The purchase of any, if not most of American products can be traced to its manufacturing or assembly in countries such as, China, Japan, Taiwan, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq and etc.…
Labor arguably is our most valuable resource. The politics of its control and management has become if not always been underlying truth as to the role of government. Ranging from our education in history, employment opportunities, and taxes, the laws we create and so forth, which are the centered at the dichotomy given to those whom we put in place to lead. Therefore it stand to reason, to the enlightened that the mind is, that which is humanities greatest resource. What the mind is taught to believe, put faith in, and strive to attain is where power and order stems. One would only need to consider the terrorist activities throughout the world and even those being called so in America. How would could strap a bomb to their chest and detonate it in a crowed airplane, crowed mall, or busy city street is unfathomable to most Americans. On the other hand, those who form groups or organization in an attempt to form an overwhelming coalition to put in place a more just society in a peaceful manner as a reasonable course of action. However there are those in America who believe those, who are the founders or creators of past said groups, would portrays acts of sedition. Does it not beg to reason, those whom we place in control and management our state of affairs are predisposed to maintain, if not expand its direct control and management in which should be held in suspect?

The cultures of the world are indeed
numerous and the interactions that have taken place within one particular
culture to another have continuously evolved throughout history.
Associations with those who reside in other cultures foreign and domestic also
change and must be considered. Resulting out of these changes is a social
transformation of a country’s society and the world’s society as a whole.
Advances in technology, such as the Internet, have laid the foundations which
will initiate wide spread transformation to every culture on the planet.
Depending on one’s point of view, this transformation can be looked at as an
opportunity, for world domination by expanding the control and management, of
those who reside at the mantles of power or have the potential for eliminating
many evils of the world, creating an atmosphere of true peace on earth.
A transformation which could then be reasoned to be the logical inevitability, if one would be so inclined and bold enough to assert the birth of world government. Words that strike fear and terror to the hearts of many throughout the world. Are these the fears of sound reason? Is it the result of religious zealotry? Does it signal the death of freedom and liberty? Or, a combination of the three? If one were to read John Locke’s The Second Treatise of Government, written in 1690, one would take into consideration the following words;

If one were to read John Locke’s The Second Treatise of Government, written in 1690, one would take into consideration the following words;
“..so that he that will not give
just occasion to think that all government in the world is the product only of
force and violence, and that men live together by no other rules but that of
beasts, where the strongest carries it, and so lay a foundation for perpetual
disorder and mischief, tumult, sedition, and rebellion…..”
Is it not, this “perpetual disorder
and mischief, tumult, sedition, and rebellion” that plagues the people of the
world? We witness almost every day episodes of violence against other human
beings. Consisting of an unlimited array of abnormal physical and mental
behavior along with a lack of law-abiding citizens. Unleashing a mischief of
acts causing injury to an undetermined amount of lives. Forcing a tumult upon a
group of unsuspecting people. Who in turn are then accused of acts of sedition
after choosing to raise their voice? Leaving them no other recourse but saved
to rebel against those who wish to do treat them unjust. Has history not told
us repeatedly what shall arise out this foundation? Again, Locke tells us our
answer….
“…. must of necessity find out
another rise of government, another original of political power, and another
way of designing and knowing” beyond what” Democrats and Republicans or any
other form of government “hat taught us”
As this necessity barrels towards us
far faster than any of us dare imagine. We are faced with a choice as of
deciding by what design the people of the world should unite and to what extent
and end of this World Civil Political Power. One who chooses to endeavor in
such a design should first consider the definition of political power itself.
To be continued……..
