The Irrationality of Hope

July 11, 2012 Politics

What is one to be called if they show reverence and belief in a higher unseen power, if they have concern for religion or other sacred matters or are extremely conscientious and scrupulous? Most won’t call them individuals who are bound by chastity, obedience and holding a vow of poverty. Why is that? Is it because it goes against everything that American capitalism is all about? Then we ask ourselves why the people of other nations want to see ours destroyed and we call them crazy. I tell you what is crazy.
When I got up this morning I logged on to Facebook and saw a picture that was shared by an individual and their quote was “love it”. The one under the picture said and I quote “This guy is awesome”.  I didn’t really pay too much attention at first but I noticed I guy holding a bill board in the background stating “Read the Holy Bible daily” so I clicked on the image. Then I noticed the guy in front bill’s board which stated, “Wig $40 Glasses $10 Pissing OFF THE RELIGIOUS PROTESTERS PRICELESS for everything else there is (hand drawn image of the Master Card logo)”.  I guess master card doesn’t have a problem with that one.  Moving on, it really didn’t bother me cause, I felt he has a right to say what he wants. I even commented stating, “may he find peace and be blessed”, crazy your thinking, right?
Then I noticed where the original post came from, to my surprise it was a political organization called Being Liberal.  So I decided to check out their Facebook page.  It has over 300,000 individuals who had clicked like. I thought okay that is a large amount of people. Now here comes the hypocrisy.  I noticed another picture on their page and at the top of picture was the caption “Obamacare” then at the bottom of it and I quote “What sick socialist bastard would want to provide free healthcare to the poor!”  So you are probably wondering what was the picture, right?  It was a mural of Jesus Christ leaning over to place his hands on a child that a mother who was kneeling and holding up in her arms towards him.  It also had two men behind him holding up another individual who looked sick then behind the woman another man on a crutch waiting his turn in line.  Wow, Right?
Americans you are being played for fools in my opinion, lambs being led to slaughter to put it another way.  So, I leave you with a quote from a contemporary adult animation TV series called, “The Boondocks”. “Hope is irrational”.
